About
Fifteen years of putting systems in order.
I started in 2011 writing Android apps and Rails backends at a small startup in Cairo. In 2015 I joined Robusta and stayed for eleven years: engineer, team lead, account manager, solutions architect, engineering manager, deputy general manager, then business unit lead. Since November 2024 I have been Director of Enterprise Architecture at RTG.
The titles changed every few years. The habit did not. Find out how the business actually runs, draw it, decide which system is the truth, and make everything else hold to it. Then stay long enough to see whether it held.
Outside work I am building NightShade Health, an app that reads food labels for people who avoid nightshades. And I run my own house the way I run systems at work: on Home Assistant, with an assistant called Jarvis and more automations than anyone strictly needs.
